Double S Industries helps individuals become independently employed in area businesses, then helps them learn the job until they are on par with other workers. After an individual knows their new job, our envolvement fades out and we only provide the supports needed for the individual to maintain employment.

Sheltered Employment

For over 30 years, Double S has provided "sheltered employment" in our building located on Galloway Road. We've contracted with area businesses to provide piecework and tabletop assembly type jobs for individuals to perform to gain income. Over recent yers, the availability of this type of work has gradually been replaced by machinery or workers overseas creating long hours of downtime.

Enclaves

Enclaves, a form of sheltered employment, offer individuals a worksite in the community which is not supervised by the company, buy by Double S workers. Individuals are paid by Double S Industries, who in turn are paid by the company. Generally a work crew of 3-8 individuals goes into an area business to perform work for that company.

Job Development

Job development is a process by which emphasis is place upon finding a job to fit the person. Double S provides Supported Employment services as allocated in the consumer's individualized plan and budget.
